Danny, if you start with the early cards you don't have to spend so much money! If you hunt around, you can pick up most of the Educational series for less than $10 each, sometimes $5!

Also got the 3rd card last week.

Waiting for Greg to post his tan ink proof (1 of 33) he won in the lottery. He didn't say which one he won though. [cool] Mike, you have pics of those in your Philly Photos, post #20.

Wonder what they have planned for next year.

I noticed the different ink colors and asked Ken Barr about it. He said the BEP does it for show pulled cards only. Very cool. I’m sure Greg Alex will have more to say ...

Mike, you obviously stopped by the SCCS table, but I must have been away doing something. Rats! I was hoping to see you there. I did see a couple other forum members on the trip.

Anyway, I finally got home a couple days ago after spending a few days post-show in NYC. I picked up quite a few cool cards on the trip and took scans or photos of an *enormous* number of others (around 200), mostly forerunners. Those will eventually end up posted on the website, but it's going to take a while to process everything.

In the meantime, here is the spider press card I won through the raffle. Nice looking piece. I actually got pretty luck and won three times, but sold off the others. I wasn't willing to fork out $150 to have the full set of three, I was happy to just have one representative card. At the end of the show there's always some horse trading to put together matched sets. I know Ken Barr assembled a complete set of #09s.

It was a little disappointing that the ANA didn't bother to have a show cancel for the event. Fortunately the Ben Franklin USPS Station was less than a mile away, which has a special "B Free Franklin" cancellation. I walked down there one hot, sticky afternoon to cancel a card for a friend and stupidly forgot to bring my own along. At least I got to see Independence Hall on the way!

Very nice pickup. Stopped by the SCCS table Wednesday and Thursday but missed you and the others. Overall I thought it was a very cool show. Amazing dealer inventory and viewing opportunities. Wow, Ben Franklin’s post office and Independence Hall...nice. BTW, what’s a “complete set of #09’s” cards ?

If you look down at the bottom of the card I posted you'll see the hand-written serial number "03/33". Each of the three cards had a number from 01 to 33. Ken traded to get a matching set of all three "09/33" cards. Those are the ones in the pictures you posted above. I think there was at least one more matching set that someone assembled.
