I'm finally home and spent some time this weekend sorting through the photos and scans I took during the show and my extended trip back East. I posted some of these already on the main forum, but here are some that are specific to souvenir cards.

The WWI Intaglio Print series was very well received by collectors and we gave the Bureau a lot of praise when we met with BEP reps at the show. Here's a shot of SCCS members looking over mock-ups of the 2019 cards, which will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. (All the Bureau folks are in black.) These cards will tie-in to a medal the Mint is producing and the two agencies are planning some collaborative cross-marketing in the future.

Here's the booth for the Souvenir Card Collectors Society, which actually got a fair number of visitors despite being stuck in the club table ghetto.

Lots of good conversation among SCCS members at the show. I'm not sure who the guy in green is, but the others are (from left) Lee Quast (SCCS publicity director), Steve Patrick (new president), Art Benjamin (past president), Mike Bean (life member), and John Parker.

The SCCS annual meeting was held on Friday, with a pretty good turn-out relative to past years. Steve Patrick will serve as our new president and I'll step in as vice-president. Bill Kriebel will remain as treasurer and journal editor. For the presentation, I gave an overview of the new website (and this sub-forum) and encouraged the membership to get more involved online.

That's Bill Kriebel to the right with the cane.

And there were a number of souvenir cards that surfaced at the show.

The last of the 2018 series BEP cards (B-331):

The Bureau's 2017 Veteran's Day card from last fall (BV-13):

And a couple Union forerunner cards from earlier in the year (probably F-2018A & B):

Hi, Greg.   Great photos. You really caught the people and the event.  I have now joined this forum and I notice almost 600 views.   How about that meeting with the BEP. You probably took that shot before they said no photos.  Now a bunch of people know about the election way before the journal.    We stayed with Paul Melnick, but I forgot to give him the wood cut. He has amazing stuff.   I can't wait to see all the new scans on the website.  Things are almost getting caught up, but I am three journals behind.

Welcome to the souvenir card forum, Mr. SCCS President! [smile] Hope you pop in on a regular basis. Since lots of people on this forum have yet to become SCCS members, I figured it wouldn't matter much if they got a little advance notice about our election results. Actually, that's the beauty of forums like this -- a much more timely exchange of information than waiting for a quarterly journal. Many of my Journal articles have started as forum topics, then I flesh them out for publication.

Yes, it's always interesting meeting with the BEP reps. It was really nice that Len Olijar, the Bureau Director, actually took the time to be there. And don't look too closely at the souvenir card mock-ups on the tabletop... [wink]

Nice! I think Mike Beck also printed some other plates but I missed seeing the results. You got a good print off yours! That's a very nice typestyle.
