Here it is. A 100% intaglio engraved product for members to enjoy. You will find it tucked inside your next Paper Money magazine. These cards must have cost a small fortune to have made
with 4 engraved colors.

Since I paid the bill, I can say that, while not cheap, we were given a very good price.

This is one of the extra benefits for being a SPMC member so, if you haven't paid your dues, make sure you get your check in to the Secretary so you don't miss out.

The SPMC Journal, a bimonthly printing has some very good articles in it. Some issues may not have much of interest to me but when they do they're priceless. The membership fee is justified by the journal alone.

For more info:

Official SPMC Web Site

The web site is being redesigned which will include a whole lot more on-line resources including many features that will be in a members-only section. Also, when it's complete, current members and prospective new members will finally be able to pay their dues on-line via Paypal.

The Paper Money journal is very valuable. However, when will they put electronic versions (including back issues) online. Most other societies (IBNS, ANA, CPMS, APS, RCNA, IBSS, etc) have a great searchable archive of their journals. Why not SPMC?

Edited to add: Not only are searchable journals extremely valuable for research, they should also save the society money because of fewer hard-copy mailings.

Bernie, that's a great (and timely) question. The answer is that we've been working on it for several months. Here's a sneak peek: SPMC new website in development.

We will need a lot of help in adding content -- blogs, events, educational pages, etc. -- in the coming weeks. If any of our members is interested in contributing, please send me an email at shawn@north-trek.com. Thanks!

The image in the OP has gotten lost, so I'll repost it. Somehow this one slipped under my radar. I would really love to add one of these to my collection. The Reapers vignette is one of my favorites.

And here's the card from the 25th anniversary...  I have this one and it was purely by chance.   Over the years I've slowly been trying to assemble a full run of the Paper Money Journal.  So, when I started getting into the souvenir cards, thanks to Greg's EVIL influence, info on this card came up.  So I went to the shelf, pulled out that issue of the Paper Money Journal and there in the middle was this card.  For once luck was on my side....

American Bank Note liked that card so much that they put out their own version with different text, apparently as a promotional tool. Instead of the hologram they slipped it into a tyvek sleeve with a "congratulations" message. However, they left the text in place that talks about holography, so it doesn't make much sense. Probably an interesting story behind this one.

I finally realized that the missing hologram doesn't make sense -- because it's an error! Somehow the hologram sticker never got attached. [smile]
