$5 Large Size Silver Certificates - Share Yours

$5 large size Silver Certificates were issued as Series 1886, 1891, 1896, 1899 and 1923. An extremely popular design and widely collected. Grants, Chiefs and Portholes. Love them all. Here’s a few. Post yours along with any back stories. The Grants are tough. Thanks.

Ugly but it's all there... I do plan to throw about $5k one day at some mid grade 1-2-5 of this series, obviously the 5 will get the lions share of that, but for now, I got stuff to do, and bills to pay...

Wow. Nice collection..congrats and thanks for sharing. Friedberg lists the 1886 Grants in Gem 65 at $25k to $45k and 1896 Educationals in same grade at $16k - $23k. Pricey in all grades but definitely must have(s) for type collectors. Keep sharing.

Super nice Fr.268 at the perfect grade-to-price ratio, XF/*PQ. A very respectable example with bright colors, massive eye appeal and original paper. That one, the Fr.282 and the Fr.267 are my three favorites of the grouping.
