I am looking for a Canadian Bank Note Book that is equivalent to the Friedberg or a comprehensive bank note book that contains all the Canadian notes.  I am new to these notes and the books I have seen online are a bit confusing with price ranges from $29-100+.

Any recommendations?

I think I may have found the answer:  Charlton Standard Catalog of Canadian Banknotes and Canada Paper Money

Yes - Charlton is standard and most people refer to Charlton numbers

And it's a lot of fun to just thumb through. Such a great variety of awesome notes.

There are actually 3 standard catalogues:

Charlton Standard Catalogue: Canadian Bank Notes by R. J. Graham for chartered (similar to obsoletes but 100+ more years) notes. This is a great catalogue but costs about $100 new for the 9th edition. You can buy an older edition for much less.

Charlton Standard Catalogue: Canadian Government Paper Money also by R. J. Graham. About $30 for the 2020 (32nd edition). I like the spiral bound version.

Charlton Standard Catalogue: Canadian Merchant Scrip, also by R. J. Graham. Last one was issued in 2008. About $80.
