I'll sign up for another, maybe for 2019, and I promise NO random numbers.  [smile]

Slide me into December. That will give me time to dig around and find something to give away.
Always looking for, or looking to buy serials as follows:

01171987
06302012
06262016

00000017 (with the 17 in any location)

It looks like August is wrapping up with nobody signed up for September. I'll step up, but it will take me a few days to figure out a contest and a prize. You guys should know by now that my contests often take some creativity and/or effort! I'll try to have it up by Monday evening.

Hi everyone, new here...so not really sure how this works. I saw that August was for a charity event, does it need to be something like that? How does this work? Or does the person 'hosting' the contest get to pick every aspect of the contest?

Look at the first post in this thread, and click on some of the links to the contests. The person hosting the contest has total freedom to determine the rules, the winner(s), and the prize(s). Many of the prizes are listed. (I chose to not disclose the last note I gave away because I wasn't sure if it would fit into the winner's collection and didn't want to discourage the eventual winner from flipping the note!)

In the past I've had contests here and on a prior site that required folks to write haikus, limericks, and find notes with serial numbers fitting certain criteria. I'm not sure what I'll do next...

Thanks for the info. Okay, great idea - I don't know why I didn't think about that. I'll take a look at previous contests!

Thanks for stepping up Delistamps - always appreciated.  We can take a break too, there doesn't have to be a contest every month, even though it is fun to see everyone's creativity and participation.

Yes, waiting a few days to post it is perfectly fine.  No worries.  And if anyone complains, take a number and I will get back to you...

These contests are a pretty cool idea wish this was something you would see in other communities.  Maybe eventually I'll have some stuff or ideas to do one.

I can do another one.  I just need a month.  The last time I mailed a note to the contest winner the note was lost in the mail.  Its been almost 6 months and it never made it to the winners house.  [mad]

Lol. Note arrived six months later. Whew. Talk about snail mail.

Didn't know you were from Omaha Deli? Spent 30 some years there myself. Florence, N. Omaha, S. Omaha, N.W. Omaha and Millard. Place sure has changed a lot in the 20 yrs. since I've been gone.

I was back last summer for the first time in 51 years. Went to Western Hills and Harrison Elementary schools when I lived there. I talked about it in one of my contests: http://www.papermoneyforum.com/post/zipadeedoodah-its-time-to-launch-septembers-giveaway-8802293?highlight=giveaway&trail=25

Thanks, yes I remember that giveaway. Is sort of a small world sometimes and you don't even know it, right? I know Omaha is a good sized city, but in all my travels around the country and online, you are the 3rd (total stranger) that I have met originally from Omaha.

I would like to volunteer to host a giveaway. I don't know when the soonest available month is but please don't wait too long. I'm not getting any younger! ☝
Regards, Joe
