Sorry to disappoint you, but no lengthy how too with this forums software...

1 - go to your old forum and find your original post
2 - click edit - copy all the text from that popup window
3 - start a new thread on this forum
4 - paste it and post it

That's it...  No need to change the image tags, web address or anything.  If anything looks out of place or not quite formatted right, you can edit your post anytime.  Please note that when you edit your post, it goes to a reduced version of the editor for a quick edit function.  If you want to do more such as edit the title etc... just click on the button at the bottom that says USE FULL EDITOR.  Then you will be able to do anything just like you originally posted it.

Make sure you're copying your own post.  Please do not copy someone else's post to this forum from anywhere else.  If you have a favorite thread someone else created, the preferred method would be to contact the original author.  Ask them to join this forum and re-post their article here and share it with us as well.  This way there is no problem with copyright permissions or offending the original author.

Any questions or problems, just ask....

Also, you can kind of save your private messages from Collectors Universe as well.   There's no real clean way of saving them but it does have one option so you can keep your info for reference.

- Go to your private messages
- If you look at the top banner, there is a list from left to right of options you can click on:
pm.jpg

- Click on EXPORT PRIVATE MESSAGES
- A popup window will appear and your only choices are export all or you can select a date range
- Once you hit export, it opens the results in another webpage window.  You can highlight and copy this text to something else like word or excel or notepad or ?.

It's not really a very good export and it only sorts them by date.  I would prefer by user and date.  The only other option I've figured out is from the first page of your PMs, you can click on a users name and it shows the whole conversation just with that person.  If it's a long one, it's broken up into several pages.  You can print each one of these pages is another option.  There was only a couple conversations I really wanted to keep because it had other info in them...  so I used this option.  But I also did a dump of all my messages and saved them to excel for some future use. just in case....
