@larry510 Insanely cool...thanks for sharing. Did those cross straight over or did you get any upgrades?
Enamored with VF-35 and lower grade PPQ/EPQ notes!

I got one that upgraded.  The rest crossed at same grade.  I will be going with PCGS Banknote for my future submissions.

I hate to threadcrap on Larry - but I have decided I dislike the new PCGS holder inserts with a passion...

Great LT's though, always like a Vinson or Mills signature...

Larry it looks likes you notes are in dedicated "small size" holders is that true or are they still one size fits all?

{does math in head} - I don't think a large size fits in the holder. I mean it would almost be laminated at the edges...

Super nice notes!

Nice notes.  I expected to see nothing less than GEM notes.

I must agree about the holder.  The logo isn't one of my favorites, but we are paying for the grade and the company's reputation.  The holders are secondary.  I never liked the PCGSC holder as the tops would get worn out and sometimes the label lettering would "scrape off."  However, I wasn't buying the label and the holder.

It definity beats this holder in the beauty contest

At first I wasn't too thrilled with the holder either but I'm actually starting to like it now.  It's growing on me.  They also come with a protective film covering which peels off but I decided to leave it on mine for now.

Super nice @larry510, congratulations. I like the new holders and logo but would prefer seeing the barcode on the back.
What are submission times running ?

They had planned to make that bar code change but decided against it.  I forget the reason but they had one.

Sent in 21 notes in a joint submission with a forum member in early July.  Received back in late July.  Not bat at all.

Here is a direct comparison of PMGs and PCGS-B's small size holders.

I'm not taking the protective film off the PCGS-B notes, so t his isn't indicative of the true clarity of their holder.

So 5/8 inch taller and 3/16 inch wider.

Do you have a PMG Large Sized note for comparison as well?

Would be nice to know if that size will fit into the Lighthouse Grande album pages.

Thanks.

I'd wager there is no way it wouldn't fit in the grande - I mean just no way. Too many other products account for the existing large size holder width...I mean even the small size holders tend to be the same width as the large size... that 8" seems a hard cap.

The PCGS Banknote holder is slightly taller than the PMG holder, but I didn’t notice it until I felt the top edge with them standing up together. And obviously it’s wider than the PMG holder as the small and large size holders are the same width.

Ya know, the holder is growing on me too.  Its just new and we all have to get used to change.  I do like the holder in its entirety.  I think its a contender for one of the best around.

Having one in hand has changed my opinion of the aesthetics. The label, which is what I didn’t like initially, has started to grow on me. Knowing there is a protective film on the holder (I didn’t know), which is why the holder isn’t as clear as I hoped, makes me like it even more (as it’s crystal clear below the film). And it’s definitely better than the PCGS-C holders.

The only thing I’m having a hard time adjusting to is the one-size-fits-all holders. I’m not a fan of all the empty space with small notes in the larger holder. It bugs me today, but as I add more notes in PCGS-B holders to my set, it probably won’t matter as much.

Enamored with VF-35 and lower grade PPQ/EPQ notes!

BTW, You can remove the protective film, but I'm leaving it on my notes as it keeps the holder from getting scratched without adding really any bulk. YMMV

👋👍. Marc you know I'm hoping you eventually join the PCGS Banknote party.  I'm currently trying to convince several others from the old registry as well 😉

One other advantage that the new PCGS-B holders have over the old PCGS-C and even PMG is more information about the note in the holder.  For example: signatures (PCGS-C did not display signatures).  Advantage over PMG would be plate numbers.  Most PMG notes don't display plate numbers.
