Is it possible to increase the number of "likes" a user can post per day?

Right now it is set to 50 which I used up rather quickly trying to get caught up on all the unread threads.

Thanks,
Jim

That's a new one on me....  I went through the settings of the site and I can only turn likes / dislikes on or off.  There's no setting for # of likes per day.  I didn't even know that there was a limit.  Sorry can't help you more...

Thanks for checking Rod!

Would it be a individual user limit setting? You don't have to waste your time on this one.

I have always seemed to try to find limits of things since my first PC.

I'm much more selective when it comes to doling out praise! [biggrin]

I looked at all settings both in general for the site and for individual users as well.  There is no place to change the 50 likes per day setting.  I would guess it has something to do with preventing a click farm from running rampant with clicking likes on all posts to falsely inflate the counts.

And for those wondering what a click farm is...  it's hundreds / thousands of cell phones all controlled by a central computer.  The person in charge picks a post or group of posts, then each phone goes to the site and clicks on like.  It looks like hundreds of people are liking your post, but it's really just a click farm of nobody.   This can be done for comments too.  Each phone has a slightly different comment to post and they can instantly upload hundreds of comments to a post as well.

Remember the old saying, just because it's on the internet does not make it true.

Rod, thanks. Don't worry about it.

I just like to put likes on notes that have been posted, 1) because I like looking at them, 2) hopefully helps encourage forum image posting participation, 3) lets the poster know someone actual looked at it.
