I got to thinking, about 1/3 of the notes I am purchasing this year are upgrades to other notes.

Let's see some notes that are upgrades to other notes.

Hehe Cliff, I thought of you when I saw the title to this thread!

Here's a cool pair that are far apart in grade. I bought them both at FUN and the VG was purchased first!

I am a big fan of Mexican Banco notes! The first one I picked up at Memphis 2013 and the upgrade was a real bargain today on eBay! Such a beautiful design and surprisingly inexpensive too.

Nice Tooky!! But you have to keep both as they are different varieties.

VG10. I paid way too much for this one, and only got half of my money back (luckily I got that). These are rare, but and right after I picked this one up, two nice VF's came out of the wood work and were on and off the market from 2015 to 2019.

In the end, everything worked out. I paid $75 more for this one than the VG+ above, which is a very reasonable deal. I would not be surprised if PMG gave this one a VF30Q which would make this among the finest.

The 65Q in the PMG census is false, it is a DGS mule and belongs to a forum member. One of the two 30's in the census is in fact a DGS. I cannot vouch for the other note.

Edit to add: Upon further review, both VF30's by PMG are DGS (E00118086* (transitional) and E00154696*, making no E star LGS notes graded at PMG, and the note above tied for finest at PCGS as VF25.

Moral of the story: Patience is key in this hobby. Doing your home work is as well.
