In a recent update dated May 14, the FUN organization is expressing optimism that the July FUN show will happen as planned, citing the gradual easing of restrictions in FL that begun with Universal Studios Citywalk and other businesses.

What are your thoughts?  Who here will attend if it takes place?

I'd like to see the rules and regulations for it.  I'm not motivated to travel 3000 miles for a show that's going to require masks, spacing, etc.  I can see that being problematic if we have to wait in line to get let in as they may have a capacity requirement.  Might have to wait in line at tables if they only allow one person at a time, etc.  Of course I'm from California so maybe Florida won't be that bad.

Definitely will be there if it's a go. I think the show organizers are being a tad optimistic, but I like that attitude. That's a lot of people packed into one room. If it does go down, the fear that's still in the air may keep a lot of the older dealers from setting up, and older buyers from attending. It could be half the size as normal. Then again, many dealers are starving for action with the recent lack of shows, so there may be many new dealers setting up that didn't in the past. It will be interesting to see how it all turns out. It could be a total waste of time, or packed full and buzzing with action.

I'll pass - I've made my reservations for next January's FUN show but the Summer FUN show is more like a regional coin show with very little in the way of serious paper money there.  Throw in the fact that this year is an "iffy" proposition and I'll stay home.

It’s a 90 minute drive for me and I’m undecided as of now. I’ll make a decision in late June, early July.

I’m beginning to wonder if there are going to be any shows this year.

Even as states reopen, I think large gatherings(coin shows) are a long way off. Very possible we don't see any shows the rest of this year. I sure hope that doesn't happen, because our market will suffer badly!

There is another problem....even if you reopen and hold the events, a lot of these older collectors are too mortified to leave the house. Media has done a great job of scaring the living daylights out of old people. (Some justified — as is the case with the most vulnerable.) We see it in our area at the coin shop. Older patrons of coin shops are not going to come out until well after the politicians say it’s safe, just as a precaution.

Visit the Hershey Candy museum!

I'm afraid you'll have to find something else to do.  According to their web site, the museum is closed for the duration.

The 2004 ANA was in Pittsburgh and, if I remember correctly, the Steelers and/or Pirates stadium(s) is just a short walk over the bridge. You can go there and meditate without having to worry about anyone else bothering you.
