“what’s the lowest you will take?”

I guess that an appropriate answer might be "What's the most that you would pay?"

Or "How much you got?"

BIN or "Make and Offer" are categories that can be searched on. So by making a note "Make and Offer" you can show up in someones filtered results, even if you have zero intention of accepting a good faith offer. Kinda like the people who put novelty 24k gold plated $100 bills with Santa Claus's face in the "Gold Certificate" category. Spammers and weasels.

Not even a fancy serial... And even if it was, not even close to being reasonable.

That's funny, I saw this thread at the top and was like: I need to go find that common $20 star some guy had 42K on... Well it looks like you took care of that! LOL

This has been on eBay over 6 YEARS (It was on there when I lived in my blue house which I left in 2014)! Seller never acknowledges offers even with a decline. I finally said the hell with it and called the shop. I made him the same offer I've been making for years. Here is the convo:

Him: It's kind of free advertising for my shop. I've received about 6 offeres in the last year for it, but I'm pretty firm.
Me: Yes 5 of those were from me, but you never acknowledge them so I wanted to make sure the item was still around.
Him: Oh. Well like I said I've received many offers on it. it must be a popular town.
Me: It's just a better type on a common 2-Bank town. Again those offers were from me (lists dates I made them)
Him: Oh. Well I get many offers for it.

I'm chasing my tail on it at this point and say:

Me: My offer is very fair. I'm one of the most aggressive collectors of Iowa material and it's been up for years. If anybody makes an offer a cent more than mine I strongly suggest you take it.
Him: Well I get a lot of offers on it, but no I'll leave it.
Me: That's fine. Have a good day.

I did notice after the call the price was dropped $30 bucks but we are still far from where it would be.

I know I probably come off rude in writing, but I was very cordial. The eBay museum is jut a frustrating place.

Hmmm... that price isn't that bad... free advertising, and he is in your head rent free too... six years. I'd bite at $370 without a care, just for mental health reasons...

But alas, the sell-it ship sailed from eBay long ago - when it costs nothing to list, people will list everything and not care if it sells...

Price is about $100 over the most recent comps. The big Iowa collectors (we are a tight community that talk) all have one or don't bother with small size. Museum has the nicest one. If somebody wants a Winterset they can get a decent $50 from the Citizens NB for less. As with most optimistic pieces..I'm young and can wait.

At least it's FREE SHIPPING. ðŸ˜¯

The item description on that $20 GA note is hilarious.

This auction is typical of a new eBay user (0 feedback) that finds a star note then finds this star note lookup website and then his eyes light up with dollar signs.

Another one:

Even the description is wrong.

They re-listed it and it is cheaper now. If they offer free shipping I might consider it.

They have 2 more listings just as crazy as this one.
