Okay,I will leave names out of this but felt compelled to get this off my chest and out there as one of those "huh?...what just happened" moments.I bought, via best offer on eBay, a $1000 bill....it is half decent and I paid $1885 for it.A solid deal but certainly no homerun as the note has some issues. So,I ask the seller if he has any others...his reply was "many".I ask if he would let me know when they will be listed as I am very interested and would consider buying all he has no matter how many-no matter the condition for the right price. He assures me that he will and then, in fact, he does the very next day.The seller listed one more and placed a best offer on the listing just like the other one I already bought.I make the same offer for a very similar note (grade/condition-wise) of $1885.Low and behold it sells........to someone else for $1750...........wait...........huh? So,I message him asking what happened. He told me....are you ready for this.................my offer was so low that he refuses to work with someone like me and then he threatened to,and indeed did, block me.I'm at a loss for words.WTF is wrong with people these days!?!?!

Was there a decimal point in the wrong place? The only plausible explanation I can even imagine.

Assume you have an e-mail confirmation of your $1,885 offer?
The value of anything is what you can sell it for the same day you bought it.

Sounds like he may have somehow gotten you mixed up with another ebayer that made him an offer. Hard to wrap my head around any other possibility! 🤨

I have concluded that there was no rational explanation....but several irrational ones.

Rob:

Did you ever receive the original note that you paid for?

Yes.This situation occurred when the seller listed another one 1 day later after the first one was already in the mail.
